The following subjects were debated:
- The object of debate is the different factors affecting the so-called principle of transparency in companies, taking a look, first of all, at the very reason for demanding transparency in companies.
- At the same time, it is proposed that we analyse the different company fields to which the principle of transparency is applicable (property, management, activity, assets, etc.), reflecting on the problems of compatibility between transparency and competitiveness in the market in a twofold sense:
- What things should be kept within the internal scope of a company for reasons of competitiveness.
- What other things should the different interest groups related to companies be informed about ( stakeholders, customers, providers, suppliers, regulating bodies, etc.).
- As for the effectiveness of transparency, the following are forwarded for debate:
- More suitable mechanisms.
- Voluntary or compulsory nature of these.
- Instruments of control.
- Suitability of fines or some other system.
- It is also suggested that the following be analysed:
- What is currently happening in terms of transparency in fields such as Corporate Social Responsibility, Governance of Large Companies, Movement of Capital…
- What role can public and private International Organisations play in the matter.
