CAN’s CSR report

Caja Navarra's 2008 CSR Report in XBRL format

Caja Navarra is the first company in the world to have written its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report in XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language)”.

XBRL is a common international language for business reports, the purpose of which is to simplify the automatic exchange and comparison of financial information; it had not, however, been applied to CSR until now. CAN firmly believes in the technical rigour and comparability of CSR and that is why it has taken up this pioneering initiative. CAN's 2008 CSR Report was drafted based on the XBRL taxonomy for CSR created by the Spanish Association of Accountancy and Business Administration (AECA) and validated by the consortium XBRL International.

CAN's 2008 Report is the first report to be left in the world's first virtual warehouse (or repository) for XBRL CSR Reports, set up by AECA and which will make such reports available to all interested users.

CAN has been at the forefront of CSR since 2004. CAN's CSR Report was awarded the Prize for the Best Sustainability Report of a Spanish Company in the 6th competition of its kind, in 2007. All of CAN's CSR reports have been verified by independent auditing bodies and have reached the highest possible level in terms of international recognition from the GRI: “A+ GRI Checked” (previously, “In Accordance”).
