Dialogue with stakeholders

Caja Navarra has set up an advanced system of dialogue with its stakeholders. We have created platforms of communication with them and continue to open up new channels of dialogue. This digital Cancha is full of places where you can talk, ask questions, relate your experiences, participate… The system of dialogue with stakeholders is structured and certified according to the standards of EFQM and SGE21. You can find out about it in detail in our CSR Report

Ethics Committee

  • Ethics Committee Mailbox  Open to all stakeholders so that they can anonymously raise any matter related to Caja Navarra's SGE21 Ethical Management System.

Customers

  • You choose: you decide. Our customers decide which social projects part of the profit made from their money in CAN should go towards. Each year, we tell them how much we have made from their money and how much they have contributed to funding their chosen NGO or social project.
  • Traceability. CAN customers choose what should be financed with the money they keep in accounts and deposits. They can decide that we should use this money for loans to entrepreneurs, immigrants, to finance subsidised housing, etc.
  • Our customers help shape our strategy. How? Through Viálogos, a system which channels our relationship with them and consists of asking them what we do badly and what we can improve –Vialoga with us-, and publically undertaking to respond. We also ask people how well we are behaving –see our ideals questionnaire- and what kind of company they would like us to be.

Employees

  • We engage in open dialogue with the 2,000 employees who make up the CAN team (Prize for innovation in internal communication awarded by the Internal Communications Observatory). Our internal blog receives impressions and opinions almost on a daily basis; our information and videos are open to suggestion and comment; we perform yearly surveys on the atmosphere at work, as well as other partial questionnaires to assess different fields of work; we have one of the most innovative brainstorming and participation systems: Impulsacan, with a prize of a trip round the world for the best team…
  • Our employees are represented on the General Board.

Social organisations

  • We have set up a blogosphere, the Civic Banking Community, of social organisations which communicate with our customers, their associates and the rest of society from our Web site. Some 3,000 organisations can create their own blogs (more than 900 already have) where they can present accounts, explain how their projects are coming along, ask for voluntary workers…

Experts

  • Our Saviálogos forum opens up a permanent debate with intellectuals on matters of political, economic and social interest.

Suppliers

  • We require our suppliers to make a written commitment to the environment and the principles of the  UN Global Compact, a commitment included in contracts. We are founding members of the Nexos responsible purchasing group and we promote CSR among SMEs via the AERCE's "Ateneo de Compras", a think tank on the role of purchasing in BSR.

Communities
At CAN, we create communities and establish mechanisms for their development.

  • Eurecan, which has its own managerial team staffed by entrepreneurs, is the most responsive, dynamic support platform for entrepreneurs on the market.
  • Pluralcan sets up mechanisms to promote the introduction of women to all fields and at all levels of the company and society in general.
  • Tribucan is an educational project, currently involving 32 Spanish schools, which aims to transmit values of solidarity and entrepreneurship to younger generations.
