Caja Navarra achieves a prime rating from Oekom, one of the most reputable sustainability rating agencies in the world
The Oekom rating agency has regarded Caja Navarra to be 'prime.' This distinction positions it as an object of socially responsible investment.
Oekom has bestowed upon Caja Navarra (CAN) the highest consideration after having conducted a highly-demanding analysis on its social, environmental and economic conduct. The agency has placed CAN on the side of sustainable investment companies and products. The consequence of said rating is that, as of this moment, CAN issues will be considered by banks, managers and investors who are more committed, i.e. those who choose their investments based not only on profitability criteria but also sustainability criteria.
In order to confer Caja Navarra a prime rating, Oekom analyzed aspects such as its participation and community management policies, transparency, environmental policies (energy and water use, emissions and recycling, among others) and social policies, both regarding its staff as well as society in general. For instance, it took into consideration equal opportunities, staff training and their job security and stability. Additionally, Oekom studied how Caja Navarra dealt with customers who had problems in repaying their debts or those who are marginalized or are living in situations where access to financial services is difficult, among many other aspects.
Last June, Oekom rated Caja Navarra, along with another 28 European financial institutions. Oekom is the world’s leading agency in examining businesses and institutions under sustainability criteria. Their evaluations provide a critical criterion to businesses and investors, and contribute towards the integration of social and environmental aspects in business management.
